Moon Scape Vessel
Moon Scape Vessel
This hand built vessel came back from Onishi Japan with me. It is part of a series of works I created while at the Shiro Oni Studios. This special stoneware clay is specifically from the region and then was fired over a weeklong process in a Anagama kiln. The colors and textures that come through on the clay are natural occurring glaze from the ash from the fire within the kiln. These unique ceramics reflect my experience as well as the atmosphere while in Onishi Japan. This specific series explores the textures and object I observed while in Japan. This piece measures roughly 7 times niches wide by 7.5 inches tall.
All pieces are food stable, and I recommend handwashing to preserve the integrity of the piece over time. Due to the nature of the ANAGAMA Kiln firing and Japanese clays the ceramics hold more moisture and may sweat a bit. This piece does not hold water and is best as an object or for dried flowers
