Bird Pedestal
Bird Pedestal
This small hand built piece came back from Onishi Japan with me. It is part of a series of works I created while at the Shiro Oni Studios. This special stoneware clay is specifically from the region and then was fired over a weeklong process in a Anagama kiln. The colors and textures that come through on the clay are natural occurring glaze from the ash from the fire within the kiln. These unique ceramics reflect my experience as well as the atmosphere while in Onishi Japan. This specific series was part of a process where I am bringing my painted imagery into a three dimensional objects. This piece measures roughly 7 in long, 3 inch wide and 3 inches tall
All pieces are food stable, and I recommend handwashing to preserve the integrity of the piece over time.
